Certified to EN 1504-2
The harmonised European standard for products used in the surface protection of concrete structures.
EN 1504-2 — Surface protection systems for concrete
BS EN 1504-2:2004 · DoP no. 1111-CPD-0556The harmonised European standard for products and systems used in the protection and repair of concrete structures. EN 1504-2 defines three protection methods: hydrophobic impregnation, impregnation, and coating.
Controll Innerseal is classified under impregnation — designed to reduce surface porosity and strengthen the substrate by reacting chemically with cement minerals to form an internal crystalline barrier. Tested for resistance to water penetration, chloride ion penetration, compressive strength, reaction to fire, and vapour permeability.

CE marking is accepted in Great Britain
Following the UK Government's confirmation in 2024–2025 (Morrell-Day Review), CE marking continues indefinitely for construction products in Great Britain. The previously planned mandatory UKCA transition for construction products has been withdrawn. Controll Innerseal's CE marking is therefore valid across both Great Britain and the EU, including Northern Ireland under the Windsor Framework.
Headline results from independent testing
Quantified findings from European materials testing institutes — verified by third parties, not us.
Less water absorption on treated bricks vs untreated samples
pH increase after treatment — critical for preventing rebar corrosion
Vattenfall environmental classification. Field-tested in Forsmark 3 nuclear plant wet-well
Tested by 11 European institutes
From Norway and Sweden to Germany and Spain — independent verification across drinking water safety, concrete chemistry, environmental impact, and field performance. Full reports available for in-person review at our offices on request.

Drinking water health analysis. Confirmed no VOCs and no substances harmful to human health. Safe for surfaces in contact with drinking water.

Highest environmental rating for sustainable construction. Swedish non-profit backed by the country's largest property developers.

Toxicological assessment for drinking water contact. Confirmed completely safe for use on surfaces in contact with potable water.

Class B environmental rating — second-highest in the SundaHus system for sustainable building products.

Water absorption test. Treated brick absorbed up to 20× less water than the untreated sample.

System 2+ annual audit. Manufacturer Betongtett AS certified under the EU Construction Products Regulation. Continuous compliance verified yearly.

Tested for VOCs, formaldehyde, and known carcinogens using among the strictest standards worldwide. Confirmed free from harmful or hazardous substances.

GREEN-2 classification. Field-tested in the wet-well (reactor cooling chamber) of the Forsmark 3 nuclear power plant — a high-moisture, high-stress environment.

Independently verified product meets all key requirements under NS-EN 1504-2, the European standard for concrete surface protection. CPR-compliant.

Water absorption test. Confirmed effectiveness in limiting moisture penetration and improving long-term durability of concrete.

pH increase from 8.8 to 10.1 after application — critical for preventing rebar corrosion and enabling rehabilitation over demolition.
